I really liked Sisu, it was a simple and over the top bloody action thriller that was really enjoyable for what it was. I was surprised to learn that a sequel was being made years later. Despite my doubts I watched it, and it was much better than I expected, even better than the first movie

Like the original Sisu, Road to Revenge is a straightforward simple 90 minute long action film with minimal dialogue in which the protagonist brutally plows through countless enemies, but this one amplifies everything from the first movie. The first movie was pretty enjoyable throughout, though there were some brief lull periods. In Road to Revenge however, the fast and tight pacing is much improved here, keeping the movie constantly moving and entertaining. The sequel is also somehow even more ridiculous, not just for how many enemies the main character Korpi massacres in over the top brutal ways, but plenty of moments in the movie resemble a live action bloody cartoon and it keeps up that energy throughout.

Jorma Tommila returns as protagonist Korpi and once again is really good, saying a lot without having to say anything. Stephen Lang plays the scene chewing villain and is a blast to watch and delivers the right energy for this movie.

Jalmari Helander returns to direct the sequel and is even better here. The action is fluid, bloody hard R gruesome, chaotic, over the top and even more entertaining than in the first movie. It doubles down on the bonkers nature and now resembles a bloody Looney Tunes episode, creative, constantly absurd, and constantly defying the laws of physics.

Sisu: Road to Revenge was an incredibly entertaining and a wildly over the top ridiculous action flick. Bigger and better than the original.
