I remember hearing about The Devil Wears Prada for quite a while and had been meaning to watch it, I just knew that it was a classic starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. It definitely lived up to its reputation.

While it does have a predictable and familiar plot, I quite enjoyed the Devil Wears Prada. It’s a comedy about the cutthroat fashion industry as well as capitalist working cultures in general, and is also very memorable, iconic and funny, with many quotable lines of dialogue.

The Devil Wears Prada really does hold up as a classic most of all because of the performances from its stellar cast. Anne Hathaway is great in the lead role, and I really liked her arc over the course of this story. Of course, the stand out performance in the whole film is Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly in one of her most iconic roles, which is saying a lot. She really becomes the role, complex, commanding and subtly menacing, and she takes the movie to a whole other level. Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt are scene stealers and also elevate the movie in their parts.

The Devil Wears Prada is funny, entertaining, and elevated by some strong performances from Hathaway, Streep, Blunt, and Tucci.
