I watched The Philadelphia Story at the Film Society. I didn’t know much about the movie, but I heard some positive things, and Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart all being in the same movie did interest me. It lived up to all the acclaim.

It’s a sharply written and very funny screwball romantic comedy, satirical and with witty and snappy dialogue. I wasn’t sure if it was going to work for me early on, but once the central scenario was set up, I was on board throughout the rest of the film.

The cast is amazing, they are charming, and they bounce off each other, sharing strong chemistry and with the standouts being the main three actors in Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart.

The Philadelphia Story is a funny and sharply written romantic comedy with a stellar cast, especially Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart.
